About Me

When I left school I'd always wanted to get a trade, so when the opportunity presented itself to join a decorating company I took it.

The company undertook different kinds of work, from renovating pubs, office, schools, new build houses and domestic work. This enabled me to acquire a wide variety decorating skills from applying different paint types and wallpapering, including wide vinyls, murals and spraying.

As I was serving my apprenticeship, I went to college one day a week to gain my NVQ Level 3 qualification.

After finishing my apprenticeship I stayed at the same company before I went travelling around Australia for a year, using my decorating skills to supplement my income. Upon my return I rejoined the same company building my way up to foreman.

In 2013 I decided that I wanted to work for myself, so I set up Damien Thorpe Painting & Decorating, where I have built up a very satisfied client base including loyal, repeat customers.
